Plumbing & gas fitting
What we do
Plumbing jobs run from a dripping valve to repiping a whole house. Hot water tanks sit in the middle, where plumbing and gas meet.
Option 01
Repairs and fixtures
Leaks, dripping valves and new fixtures. Before a repair, we look at the rest of the system and tell you what’s likely to need work next.
Option 02
Hot water tank replacement
Replacing a gas tank needs gas work as well as plumbing, and we cover both in one job. A heat pump water heater is another option; as of October 2026 some rebates apply.
Option 03
Repiping and gas lines
Repiping an older house, or running gas lines and hooking up gas appliances. Gas work is done by a licensed gas fitter under permit, managed by us.
Our process
How the job runs
01
Free visit, written quote
We look at the job and the system around it. The written quote states whether disposal of the old unit is included and what covers the tank and the labour.
02
Permits and schedule
Plumbing permits come from your municipality; gas permits are pulled by the licensed gas contractor before work starts. We schedule both trades together.
03
The work
Licensed plumbers and gas fitters do the work under our management. In a pre-1990 house, anything that means cutting into walls or ceilings gets an asbestos test first.
04
Final walkthrough
We walk the finished job with you, check fixtures and connections against the quote, and take away what was agreed.

Built for the coast
Older pipes in older houses
Postwar and 1970s houses around Victoria and Vancouver have had decades of repairs, and the plumbing may show it: a mix of pipe materials, add-ons from past renovations and shutoffs nobody has turned in years. Before a repair, we tell you what we see in the rest of the system, so you can plan instead of react.
If the house is pre-1990 and the job means cutting into walls or ceilings, we test for asbestos first, as WorkSafeBC advises.
Permits and gas rules
Plumbing permits come from your municipality, and Victoria lists them as their own application. Gas work is regulated by Technical Safety BC. Ours is done by licensed gas trade partners under our management, the licensed contractor pulls the permit, and gasfitters must hold trade certification. An eligible homeowner may replace a water heater only after getting the appropriate permit.
Rebates, as of October 2026: the CleanBC Home Renovation Rebate includes heat pump water heaters replacing electric water heating, and FortisBC runs its own heat pump water heater rebate. Check both program pages before you rely on either.
- Plumbing: municipal permit.
- Gas: licensed contractor and permit, pulled by the licensed trade. Ask us for the Technical Safety BC licence number.
- Replacing your own water heater: only if you’re eligible, and only with the permit.
Questions to ask any contractor
Ask us these too.
- Who pulls the plumbing or gas permit?
- For gas work, who holds the Technical Safety BC licence, and what is the number?
- Would a heat pump water heater qualify for a rebate here?
- What covers the tank, and what covers the labour?
- Is disposal of the old unit included?
